Chair of AOTOS
Pamela is Chair of the Association of Teachers of Singing, where she organises national conferences, the teacher training programme, and creates strategy for the future of the organisation, including governance strategy and partnerships with other national music organisations.
She has also served as Editor of AOTOS’s Annual Review magazine. Her work there includes researching and commissioning articles, interviews and reviews of the leading singing teachers and pedagogues, editing and publishing them in the Newsletters and Annual Review magazine. For the Annual Review she interviewed Michael Rosen about his experiences with Speech and Language Therapy, and the directors of English National Opera’s Breathe programme, for sufferers of Long Covid.
Keynote speaker
Pamela is frequently invited to give keynote talks on the topic of voice technique, healthy singing, choral coaching and how to teach children.
She’s been a featured speaker at the Royal Ballet and Opera Symposium, Ark Academy Trust, National Youth Choir, and British Voice Association (BVA).
Most recently Imperial College NHS Trust invited Pamela to speak at their two-day course celebrating legendary SLT Christina Shewell “A Multidisciplinary Approach to Voice Therapy.” Pamela spoke on the topic of “Optimising Air Flow Management and Respiration for Voice and Singing.”
Next will be Music Teacher Magazine’s conference on Curriculum Music, where Pamela will give the big finale talk.
